The HollyRod Foundation’s DesignCare Gala 2024 was a spectacular event held on September 28, 2024, in Los Angeles.

Honorees and Awards – Viola Davis was honored for her extensive philanthropic contributions with an award named for the late humanitarian Jacqueline Avant She delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech, reflecting on her challenging childhood and the importance of giving back.

Other honorees included Michele Kong, Julian Maha, Morgan Harper Nichols, Suzanne Camille Proctor, Dr. Chantale Branson, Eric Aquino, Jason McElwain, and Nadine Wright-Arbubakrr. The event was graced by several celebrities and influential figures, including Magic Johnson, Kelly Rowland, Nicole Avant & Ted Sarandos (Owners of Netflix), Lisa Padilla, Jimmy Jam, Garcelle Beauvais, Maureen McCormick, Rocsi Diaz, Vanessa Estelle Williams, and several others. Execs from major sponsors including Lexus, Cigna health and American Airlines returned to support as they have in the past

Event Highlights:

The evening featured a wonderful dinner spread coupled with a variety of bar recipe selections including Casa Migos Tequila George Clooney’s line, Sir Davis Beyoncé’s whisky line, Ving Vodka, Crafted Cocktails, The Mocktail club and others. Following the bites was the presenting awards ceremony followed by the annual fashion show showcasing the latest stunning designs.  In between, an auction was held to raise funds for the foundation, with items ranging from exclusive experiences to luxury goods. The night concluded with a lively after party featuring a performance by the ’90s R&B group After 7. Guest was treated to wonderful gift bags concluding the evening that featured products from Chaz Dean’s Wen Fragrance collection, Beyoncé’s Fragrance line eau de parfum; “Cé Noir, beverage products form Water Drop, True Serenity Tea (VIP bags) and more.
