The word ”Autonomous” has frequented the Consumer Electronics Showroom (CES) floor since the very first show in June, 1967. The first semi-automated car was developed in 1977 by Japan’s Tsukuba Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, and required specially marked streets that were interpreted by two cameras on the vehicle and an analog computer. The vehicle reached speeds up to 30 kilometers per hour (19 mph) with the support of an elevated rail. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-driving_car
The Autonomous version in 2021 debuts with SPEED live from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Are you ready for the most advanced autonomous vehicle in the world? The Dallara designed race car, yes, I said RACE CAR, will be used this October where 500+ university students are developing the technology to drive the race car and win the competition for a $1.5 million prize. Buckle up kids the need for speed has no driver, only software!
