SYNOPSIS — The subject of profiling is addressed from the profiler, coming from the same housing community. Profiling of young Black men by police, “Karens,” merchants, etc. is a common problem, but sometimes the profiler comes from the same community. Thought provoking.

ILL 4 Real Entertainment & Executive producer William Andre Buchanan is proud to present NEIGHBOR the funny but thought-provoking short film based on a spoken word poetry piece written by Paul Mabon. The film Features breakout performances from Brandon Mckinnie (THE NEW EDITION STORY) and Paul Mabon (MALIGNANT), who is also well known as a poet & host of PAFF’s Spoken Word Fest. The charmingly funny but mood pivoting film had a soft screening last year at the 2022 National Black Theatre Festival and received great reviews from viewers. That energy continued as it premiered at the prestigious 2023 Pan African Film and Arts festival in front of a packed house for both days it screened. Neighbor is now being requested to screen at several festivals because of the entertaining delivery but the importance of the message within.
