As a foodie, sweetaholic, & self-proclaimed snack-master, the past week has been probably the most exciting for me in 2022 and believe me I live a pretty exciting life from tech investing to Hollywood. I attended the National Restaurant Association Show & the Sweet and Snacks Expo in the same week hosted in my hometown of Chicago at the McCormick Center.
National Restaurant Association Show (NRA Show) is the platform to connect, discover, learn, inspire and gain the tools needed to innovate and thrive in the international food & beverage marketplace. It offers a unique, forward-thinking experience for the restaurant industry and its leaders, focused on tools and resources to deliver actionable strategies for exponential growth while providing resources that are critical to success in the industry.
The Sweets & Snacks Expo is a trade event formerly known as the Candy Show that showcases candy and snack innovation/products & brings together the manufacturers and the retailers to make decisions about what heads to retail store shelves or through ecom sites. The show highlights confectionery and snack products and the companies that created them in a three-day event.
These conventions highlight several resources and programs represented at the show and did i mention product? From award ceremonies to “Workforce Day” to training opportunities and presentations on current DEI initiatives, to good old-fashioned face to face interaction, the events produce an excellent environment to connect with peers and embrace the foodservice & Sweets and Snacks industry as the country attempts to recover from what I pray is a lingering pandemic in retreat.
For me however, this was heaven in disguise as I connected with familiar brands and discovered some new ones as well.
