Advertising Week 2023, the world’s largest gathering of advertising, marketing, media and technology professionals, took place from October 16 to 19, 2023, at THE PENN DISTRICT in New York City. The event featured over 300 speakers, 200 sessions, 50 workshops and 20 networking events, covering the most relevant and timely topics in the industry.
According to the organizers, the event attracted over 100,000 attendees from more than 100 countries, generated over 1 billion impressions on social media and raised over $10 million for charity. Advertising Week 2023 featured dynamic audience segment presentations and advanced activation and was a testament to the power and potential of advertising to shape the future of business and society.
The theme of Advertising Week 2023 was “The Future of Advertising”, exploring how the industry is transforming in the face of new challenges and opportunities, such as artificial intelligence, data privacy, diversity and inclusion, social responsibility, storytelling, streaming and gaming. Some of the highlights of the event included:
- A keynote address by the entire Shark Tank Cast who focused mostly on Startup and investment advice.
- A keynote address by Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, who shared his vision for the future of technology and its impact on advertising and society.
- A panel discussion on “The Power of Purpose”, featuring Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and co-founder of Malala Fund, Marc Pritchard, the chief brand officer of Procter & Gamble, and David Droga, the founder and creative chairman of Droga5.
- A fireside chat with Issa Rae, the media producer, actress and philanthropist, who talked about her journey and her advice for aspiring leaders and entrepreneurs.
- A live performance by Nelly for the close out party, who entertained the audience with his hit songs at the AWNewYork Official Wrap Party.

Advertising Week 2023 also celebrated the best of creativity and innovation in the industry, with awards ceremonies such as The One Show, The Webby Awards, The Clio Awards and The Effie Awards. The event also showcased the latest trends and technologies in the industry, with exhibitions such as The Innovation Lab, The Gaming Zone, The AI Summit and The VR Experience.
Advertising Week 2023 was not only a platform for learning and inspiration, but also a catalyst for action and change. The event partnered with several organizations to support various causes and initiatives, such as UN Women, The Ad Council, The 4A’s Foundation, The AdColor Movement and The Female Quotient. Advertising Week 2023 was a success in terms of attendance, engagement and impact.
